The AUDITORIUM FOUNDATION OF LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA is established under the protection of the right recognized in the art. 34.1º of the Spanish Constitution, according to the rules of the current law of Foundations and tax incentives for private participation in activities of general interest at a national and regional level.

The FOUNDATION is created through the initiative of the Town Hall of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Town Council of Gran Canaria, with the aim to encourage the private initiative for carrying out activities of general interest, attending to the relevance the society was demanding. It is governed by a Board where the two corporations and other public and private entities are included.

The two following purposes determine the activity of the FOUNDATION:

On the one hand, the cultural and musical promotion and creation, organizing, planning and managing concerts and other spectacles under the name of AUDITORIUM ALFREDO KRAUS;

on the other hand, promoting the knowledge and exchange of ideas, studies and projects, organizing and developing contests, congresses, conventions and all kind of contacts under the name of CANARY ISLANDS PALACE CONVENTION CENTRE.

The Foundation has the following Basic guidelines:

•  To keep the productivity of the goods and rights according to the economical–financial criterions of a good independent management.

•  Economic, cultural and social profitability for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Gran Canaria specially, and the Canary Islands in general.

•  To know the current and future needs of users/ clients, internal / external ones, with the aim to obtain their loyalty thanks to an integrated and first–class service.

The Foundation Directorship, in accordance to the statutes and agreements adopted in the meetings of its Board, accomplishes the objectives entrusted to it with the proper professionalism and effectiveness. Budget severity, resources optimization and economy, reliability, professionalism, quality, variety and care in the selection of activities (concerts / congresses) and services.

Through the organization, planning and management of musical activities, the Foundation wants to foster the free creation and representation of all kind of musical arts, including lyric and dance; to promote the knowledge and audience to the activities, through a wide spreading and communication to all the citizens; and to establish cooperation and collaboration relationships with other entities and artistic groups.

Through the organization of contests, exhibitions, congresses, conventions, meetings and all kind of contacts, it is desired to promote and make easier the exchange of ideas, projects and services.

This kind of management must be the most profitable from a social, cultural and economic point of view.

Cultural and social profitability of an equipment means that large sectors of the population can enjoy of it, in accordance to requirements of proficiency and quality in order to increase its prestige.

Imagination, novelty and quality are fundamental characteristics when an attractive and prestigious planning must be offered.

It is worth pointing out the holding of the International Cinema Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which takes place in the Auditorium Alfredo Kraus, as well as almost the totality of the programme of classical music, organized by the Foundation of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, the Canary Islands' Music Festival and the Philharmonic Society of Las Palmas.

Nevertheless, there was a great emptiness regarding the organization of other music styles. That is why the Auditorium Foundation aims to fill those empty holes.

On the one hand, the main national and international artists of Jazz, Pop, New Music Styles, Singer – Songwriters, etc., are engaged; and on the other hand the spectacles created by Canarian artists are supported.

Also a cycle for young Canarian Talents is promoted. Finally, it must be underlined the organization of a cycle of organ concerts which takes place in The Canary Islands for the first time. There also are guitar cycles (MEG), music of the world concerts (Arrecife de las Músicas) and Jazz concerts (Rincón del Jazz).

An economic profitability implies an effective management, promoting the holding of congresses, contributing to the economical recovery of the town, generating economic resources for the Foundation, and maintaining the facilities and cultural activity.

The commitment of The Auditorium Foundation is to posses a first class offer that guarantees the audience's / client's confidence with respect to reliability, technical capacity, diligence and security in the development of our activities.
