The CTI All Stars Band brings to the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium the best jazz-fusion

The Symphonic Hall of Alfredo Kraus Auditorium will be the stage for the concert of the CTI All Stars Band on July 12th at 20:00 h. The legendary jazz producer Creed Taylor founder of Impulse and CTI Records will bring to Gran Canaria the CTI All Stars Band, a collection of stars of jazz world. This concert is included the XVIII International Jazz & Más Heineken Festival in the Canaries.

Taylor revolutionized during the decade of the 70’s, not only the jazz sound, but the aesthetic of the albums with a concept not even beat today. Remembering the golden days of jazz fusion, Creed has gathered gorgeous stars in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium. Hubert Laws, the best flutist in jazz history, Bill Evans and Randy Brecker, two heavy sax and trumpet player of contemporary jazz, the genial guitarist Russell Malone, Danish pianist Niels Lan Doky- one of the best European pianists- , the magician of the electric bass Mark Egan, Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts. The legendary Brazilian percussionist Airto Moreira on drums, and the marvelous voice of Flora Purim.

The outstanding producer Creed Taylor (Virginia, 1929) is known for being one of the architects of ‘smooth jazz’. In the late 60’s, he started to make high quality productions in studios. Taylor pretended to record jazz artists keeping their improvisation elements.

Merging artists like guitarist George Benson or trumpet player Freddie Hubbard and arrangers Don Sebesky and Bob James, Taylor’s concept worked commercially.
